CLOSED – On The Green restaurant is located at 11 High Street facing the Bowling Green in Stevenage’s Old Town in a beautiful Grade 2 listed building.
We are an independent family business whose mission is to bring modern British cuisine to Stevenage using seasonal, locally sourced where possible produce, with service which is good without being stuffy; a special occasion venue which doesn’t break the bank.
If you book a table, it is yours for the night. You can stay for as long as you want.
And if you have a special occasion, all you need to do is let us know what you would like to eat or drink (or both) and we will do our utmost to make it happen.

We absolutely love “On The Green” restaurant!…The food is outstanding, we have always had a great meal here. The atmosphere at On The Green is so warm and welcoming where the staff and owners can never do enough for you. We have never felt rushed like you get in some establishments, the table always feels like ours for the evening and when looking round the restaurant everyone seems to be smiling and enjoying themselves.
I would highly recommend On The Green to anyone, as the quality of food along with the service and value for money (as food is of such a high standard) makes our choice for an evening out simple…”On The Green” is flawless, love it!
We luckily managed to squeeze in a reservation with friends after a cancellation and were so so pleased to eat here! We were celebrating with friends who had just brought a new house and were staying with us for a few days and had been going on and on about this amazing restaurant that we kept hearing so much about!! Certainly did not disappoint on any level!! Staff are amazing and so friendly, the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed and the food is absolutely divine, I cannot recommend this place enough! The quality, service and value for money means we will definitely be going back again and again!!
