The Jade Garden in St Albans was opened by owner Kim Lau from Hong Kong in 1969 making it the oldest Chinese restaurant in the city remaining under the same ownership.

It is one of the most popular restaurants in St Albans, which is situated in one of the cities listed buildings, just off the main market place in Spencer Street.

Owning to the increasing interest in, and popularity of Cantonese cuisine over the past years, the management have re-arranged, and included in this present menu, an even wider selection of Cantonese dishes for you to venture into.

The style of cooking at the Jade Garden is mainly Cantonese and serves a wonderful selection of dishes, you will always find something new to try, especially in the table d’hote section, for parties of 2-12 persons you will find wider choices of dishes, making your repeated visits more interesting.

Parties for any occasion can be catered for and using his banqueting skills Kim can cater for groups of 10 to 40 people. He will discuss each party individually and you can order virtually any combination of dishes you want to suit your tastes.

As well as the excellent choice of varies dishes Kim also reserves a section of his menu for the plainer Chinese dishes he served when the Jade Garden first opened, for many diners still choose them.

The atmosphere within the restaurant is enhanced by the tasteful decor, a consistently high standard of food, service and friendliness.

This restaurant is fully licensed offering a wide selection of Old & New World wines.
