  • Chosen as the location for many a television program, The Cock & Rabbit at The Lee, near Great Missenden. It is the epitome of ‘the English pub’ settled beside a village green, in spectacular Buckinghamshire countryside.

Yet this is an English pub with the unique melding of English and Italian, a seamless marriage resulting in a truly unusual experience. Here Italian cuisine dominates the extensive menu and Italian beers are served at the bar alongside traditional English ales. Our difference is further celebrated in our adjoining restaurant, Graziemille.

There’s something even more striking about the Cock & Rabbit, you will notice it from the moment you step through the door and seem to be transported back, to a time when England was in its heyday. For The Cock and Rabbit is unapologetic for the fact that it has one figurative ‘foot’ in the not so recent past.

People the world over will recognise it from its regular appearances in television’s Midsomer Murders. Fewer will know that it has featured on television for its culinary expertise and particularly its use of unusual ingredients, such as ‘wild garlic’.

The pub is a truly rare experience in these times of ‘theme pubs’ and wine bars and is so much the better for that rarity. Discover The Cock and Rabbit yourself, throughout the year it is a delightful place to visit.
