Welcome to “The Place to Be” – mobile event catering covering the UK nationwide, based in Northamptonshire.

Operating from a beautifully converted horse box bar, The Place to Be catering team add a touch of class to any event. What’s more, our set-up is able to be branded for whatever event we are working on.

We are a very experienced catering business working in private events, corporate hospitality and consultation – which spans from all aspects of wedding planning to helping venues and businesses with an operational health check – essentially reviewing the systems and procedures in place to see if there are better methods of working to save you both time and money.

What we serve

Whether it’s a gin and tonic or prosecco with lime, we can help make any social event “The Place To Be”. We offer tea, coffee and snacks to keep you going all day, plus a main menu that covers hot-dogs, burgers, fish and chips, Noodle bars, crepes and pizza.

Our Story

“The Place To Be” Catering is operated by Mike McAuley.

Mike has extensive experience in the catering industry that spans almost 30 years. At the age of 19 he became Head Chef for the Daily Telegraph Event catering team. He has worked as an events manager at some of the most prestigious venues and locations around the world, Royal Ascot, Buckingham Palace, Aintree Race Course for the Grand National, Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi and Silverstone Circuit as Head of Catering to name a few. He is passionate about customer focus and experience, ‘The Place To Be’ and all its customers can only benefit having Mike at their event.
