Originally Northampton’s first purpose-built cinema in 1912, The Picturedrome remains one of the Midland’s most unique venues.
Quite simply, our aim is to be the place you watched that wonderful film, the afternoon you spent enjoying good food and good company and the night you and your friends danced until dark.
Situated at the end of a Victorian tree-lined avenue lane on the bustling Kettering Road, the Picturedrome offers everything you need for a relaxing afternoon or the perfect evening out.
Proud to be at the heart of the community, The Picturedrome has a strong commitment to celebrating and showcasing music, live comedy, films and burlesque.
Affectionately known as ‘The Drome’; from rock to opera, local to national and international bands and artists – you can be sure that this distinctive venue lives up to its reputation as one of the town’s premier live entertainment spots.
Enjoy the laid-back café feel of The Front Bar, where plenty of natural daylight filters through the concertina windows which are flung open on sunny days. A favourite haunt for customers to sit and read the papers, do a spot of internet surfing via our free Wi-Fi connection, or enjoy delicious, freshly prepared food – The Picturedrome truly is a local hub.
Walk through the double doors into the Venue Bar and you are struck by the sheer size of this auditorium. At the far end you’ll find our famous stage adorned with heavy velvet curtains, a giant HD screen and an impressive bar running the full length of the room.
Venture up to the Mezzanine for a comfortable seat overlooking the entire room or one more short flight of stairs takes you out on to a secluded roof terrace.
