We booked a table for 7.00pm on a Saturday night to treat our son, despite being a 45-minute drive, our previous visit a couple of years ago was a great night and so thought the one and a half hour return travelling would be worth it.
On arrival it seemed fairly quiet for a Saturday night but our starter was painfully slow to arrive. We waited and waited for the main course to arrive, as did other diners. By about 8.45pm other tables started to leave without their food having arrived, it appeared that the chef had not turned up and the manager was cooking. He came out of the kitchen to confront one group who were leaving and when one of the diners said “I think this is appalling service” he responded “I don’t care what you think”, the man responded with “You will when I put it on Trip Advisor” to which he replied “I don’t care about Trip Advisor”.
I asked him how long our meal would be, and he said, “I’ll cook yours next”. By 0910 we gave up, as waiting over 2 hours for the meal had made us loose our appetites, as we were leaving the cook appeared with a pan of half cooked food saying “This is your dinner, it will only be 30 minutes”, suffice to say we left.
The two young men on front of house were dazed, left to deal with angry customers whilst the cook had a go at them in public saying there was no reason for their customers to leave and it was down to their lack of communication. I would agree with this as had they been open and honest and said there was a problem in the kitchen and food was going to take hours then at least we could have decided to leave earlier and try it again another day.
A previous visit a couple of years ago was a very positive experience and based on this we returned, it would appear to be under different management and from our experience, and fellow diners, we think its days are numbered as this was a Fawlty Towers experience, a treat night out ended up with a bacon and egg sandwich at 1030 at night!!!

Having read Trip Advisor reviews afterwards, we see that many others report similar stories and so our advice would be to base any visit on other people’s experiences, you have been warned!!!
